I was going to die if I saw that promo one more time.

A toy airplane that belonged to the man she loved/killed. As Jack said, "tell me the truth". Please let that not be the truth because if so And it might not be because if you noticed they never showed Kate killing that guy.

Now, now Ric. Just because there weren't any explosions or sex doesn't mean you need to start acting out. I initially thought it was weird that Kate seemed so worked up over a plane, but then it struck me as strange that Kate, a survivor of a strange plane crash, has a plane as a memento of a guy she either loved or killed, who by the way, wasn't the guy robbing the bank. Of all the things to have in a safe deposit box - a PLANE? It's one of those curious things that makes my mind wander much like the polar bear (and the polar bear from the comic book), the rain stopping just after Michael told Walt they'd search for the dog as soon as it stopped raining and the circumstances that got Claire on that plane. I thought the revelation that Kate lied and manipulated a bank robbery was a nice shock, because we've been led to believe that she's a Joan of Ark type - an unsung heroine being unfairly punished.

And what of Claire? The girl is missing. Why isn't Jack still out there trying to find her? Why didn't the episode show Locke still trying to find her? I would think damn near the whole camp would be out there trying to find her. Or at least Sayid and Link from the Matrix (can't remember his character's name here). It's like no one really give's a rat's ass that she's out there.

Jack may still be recuperating from ETHAN ROM knocking him the fuck out and telling him that he'd kill Claire if Jack doesn't stop following him. Plus Charlie, their closest link to that whole incident has been rather reticent as of late. I was pleased to see good ol' Rose again. She always manages to creep me out, especially when she talks about her husband not being dead. Locke and Boone definitely have their own thing gong on with the discovery of that metal compartment in the ground, which seems to be the basis for next week's episode. Can't say that I blame anyone for not looking for Claire given the beast in the jungle, attacks on Sayid and other unexplained strangeness.

I'm surprised you didn't find the ongoing dynamics between Boone and Shannon interesting. I've never really bought into the idea of them really being siblings. Siblings do argue and squabble over the silliest things, but after a trauma like a plane crash on a strange island, one would think they'd come together and be protective of one another especially with all these strangers around and unimaginable dangers. Yet, they snipe at each other at every opportunity and pick apart each other's actions - the one time they came together was when she was having an asthma attack. Boone seemed really upset over Shannon going off with Sayid to help him translate those words, and what of the trance he seemed to be in when his "sister" was singing that French song, which curiously sounded very similar to Bobby Darin's BEYOND THE SEA, which is also a curious song to be referencing? Where are these people and what is really BEYOND THE SEA that surrounds them?

I thought LOST ruled.
