I was disappointed with both but especially Alias.
First Lost.
I was reading a recap of "Desperate Housewives" that criticized the show for revealing too little as the weeks went on. It then said that sometimes shows with any kind of mystery built into them tend to get bogged down with their own plotlines. Alias was mentioned by the way and I couldn't agree more.
Aaaaanyway -- I think "Lost" is currently suffering from this. This past episode was such a non-event as far as I was concerned. I got excited when I saw the passengers under water but the pay off was disappointing. A toy airplane that belonged to the man she loved/killed. As Jack said, "tell me the truth". Please let that not be the truth because if so
And it might not be because if you noticed they never showed Kate killing that guy.
And what of Claire? The girl is missing. Why isn't Jack still out there trying to find her? Why didn't the episode show Locke still trying to find her? I would think damn near the whole camp would be out there trying to find her. Or at least Sayid and Link from the Matrix (can't remember his character's name here). It's like no one really give's a rat's ass that she's out there.
I don't know. Nothing really happened in the episode. If you took out this episode from the season it would seem like you wouldn't be missing anything of real value to the overall story arc. Worst ep this season as far as I was concerned.
Now Alias.
*sigh* Talk about starting the season off with a whimper. The way they brought all of the players together again was not only so contrived but just completely unecessary. I could go on a rant but I already did at The Palace and am exhausted from it. Beyond my issues with the plot the spy adventures from this ep weren't even exciting. The whole seductress thing in the beginning was a poor replica of that Super Bowl ep a while back. And I hate the credits. And on and on.
I can't belive that The West Wing offered the best episode that night.
