Even if Hurley's backstory wasn't as compelling as others, the episode added a great new layer to the overall arc of the show. We have a new connection between characters with Hurley apparently having owned Locke's company (not that they realize it), and was that the metal contraption Locke and Boone found that had the numbers on it? With all of these connections between the characters forming (with my favorite still being Sawyer having talked to Jack's dad), we can say for sure there is some overall point to the characters being on the island. Of course, it could be years before we find otu what that is.

keening vocals and a song selection of tremulous grace,
thrills with authenticity and emotion..." - Entertainment Weekly
