Randy said backing singers can't sing as high as Nikko; didn't he play bass on Mariah's "I'll Be There" that featured Trey Lorenz singing higher than any male has sung on AI? :hand Anyway, it seemed like Nikko got more time than the other guys. He did 2 verses and 2 choruses if I remember right, and most people just did 1 verse and 1 chorus.

I thought Scott did well with "Lady" and was surprised the judged were critical of him. I was impressed (and, as Paula said, didn't expect that song from him), even if it wasn't the best of the night.

Bo's "Drift Away" was pretty good, but I don't see him winning this. I'm not quite sure why he and Constantine both got in, moreso because I haven't been impressed with Constantine than because I think they're similar (though I was impressed Constantine hit some of those higher notes last night, regardless of whether they were sharp or not).

I didn't get the big deal with Mario. Sure he had some energy, but if you have to keep telling the audience to "Come on!," perhaps it's because you aren't doing something right. I also didn't see where his vocal was all that great. And can he please lose the hat?

Spoilers are out about the girls songs for tonight; at least there are some not-obvious songs like "Work It Out" and "Could've Been." I think the song selection will be better tonight.

keening vocals and a song selection of tremulous grace,
