I don't own the album, so I only know the singles (and "All at Once"). All of the singles are great in their own way, but my personal favorite is "Greatest Love of All." It is my favorite Whitney song of all time, so powerful and anthemic. "How Will I Know" is pure bubblegum fun. "Saving All My Love For You" is the perfect torchy ballad, and Whitney sounds superb (I'd reeeealy love to hear her "black" version). "You Give Good Love" was a perfect single to introduce Whitney, so classy and understated. "All At Once" was good too, and provided a blueprint for a future Whitney #1.

Music aside, the thing that I loved most about 80's Whitney was her image. Sure it was pure record label manufacturing, but she was so perfectly poised and groomed. It was almost mystifying...this beautiful nubian queen with huge teased hair, singing ballads with perfect pitch in a shimmering evening gown. It was almost like scientists created the perfect female vocalist in a lab. No wonder she was the princess of the late eighties.
I got 99 problems but a BITCH ain't one!
