Speculation....
"The real issue is that Janet cancelled SNL after an argument that she had with the label over single selection. "LUV" was the single that Island wanted to push in the US, and "Rock With U" was the single they wanted to push internationally... but Janet was defiant.
They told her that they would no longer be supporting her if she wanted to mess up a great era, and that would mean no website updates, no push at radio, and absolutely no more promotion. The "Rock With U" video was never sent to MTV or VH1, and Island made sure BET were the only ones to play it. As a "f*ck you" -- Janet cancelled SNL. She was never sick. IT was just good PR. The only reason she followed through with the Kid's Choice Awards is because of the children. Otherwise, she would've cancelled.
Janet and LA Reid are no longer on good terms, and she wants out of her deal. The tour is a big deal to her, because she wants to buy out of her album deal (which isn't that big) w/ Island, and sign to LiveNation. LiveNation will be willing to sign Janet if she can reach a certain dollar amount with the tour.
You didn't hear this from me, though"
If this is true, Janet is stupid for insisting on RWU instead of Luv for the US.
